The Walkathon event is Oct. 11 from 4-8 p.m., but you must register your team by Sept. 19 to compete for awesome prizes!

We will be having Moseley booth tables Sept. 15-19 with Phoenix card swipers. Our tables will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday of this week. If you want to pay your $15 registration free (includes t-shirt) that way you can! Otherwise, just go to Moseley 230 to pick up your packet and pay via cash/check (checks made out to “Elon University Invisible Children”).

If you aren’t interested in being a team member, you can simply come as a fan for $5. We will be having a speaker from Northern Uganda come speak, a capella groups perform, a live screening, and a type of sportsfest. Don’t miss out!

Information is below on this year’s Walkathon! You can contact kmeyer3@elon.edu or invisiblechildrenelon@yahoo.com for any questions!

Where & When: Track behind Rhodes Stadium from 4-8 p.m. on Oct. 11.

Who: Team of five to 10 people and as many “fans” as you can recruit.

How: Register by Sept. 19. Each team member’s registration fee is $15 (includes t-shirt). Turn in paperwork and funds to the Kernodle Center. You can pick up your registration packets in the Kernodle Center (Moseley 230).***Registration fees can be paid cash/check (all checks must be made out to “Elon University Invisible Children”)

Why: Money raised builds a school in Uganda by Elon’s chapter. Why else? Food, games, music and tons of great prizes. Once registered, here are ways to start earning money (prizes are based on money raised):

Donors: Go out and ask people if they’d pledge money towards this cause. You can send letters home, or just talk to friends and family. Remind people their donations are tax-deductible.

Fans: While you can only have 5-10 people per team, fans have no limits. Fans can get in for $5 and be a part of all the festivities as well. Their entrance fee and any additional donations they make also count towards your team.

Merchandise: When you buy any of the merchandise, baked goods, or request a song, your team receives credit for these purchases (so bring money!)
