Celebrate Homecoming Weekend THIS FRIDAY-SUNDAY

Homecoming 2008 offers something for everyone this year, including College Coffee and the Spirit Rally, Golden Alumni luncheon, Young Alumni party, tailgating before the Phoenix football game and the Beach Bash featuring the alumni band The IN-MEN. Make plans to reconnect with Elon and your classmates.

If you haven’t registered in advance, you can register in the commuter lounge in Moseley Center on Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Golden Alumni Luncheon and Class of 1958 Induction

Noon, McKinnon Hall, Moseley Center
Members of the Class of 1958 and all graduates who have celebrated
their 50th reunion are invited to this special luncheon. The Class of
’58 is the class of honor as members are inducted into the Golden
Alumni group.

College Coffee and Spirit Rally

4 – 5:30 p.m.
Start your weekend by gathering at Fonville Fountain for this favorite Elon tradition, followed by the Spirit Rally for the football team. Go Phoenix!

Beach Bash featuring The IN-MEN, Ltd.

7:30 p.m.
Reconnect with one of your favorite alumni bands at the Beach Bash in McKinnon Hall in Moseley Center. The 1960s group The IN-MEN features six alumni performers.

Department of Performing Arts Fall Musical, “Sweeney Todd”
7:30 p.m. McCrary Theatre, Center for the Arts
(Additional performances on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.)

Young Alumni Party
8-11 p.m. The Lighthouse Tavern

Graduates from the Classes of 1998 to 2008 gather for the Young Alumni Party. Join your classmates, as well as the Class of 2009, for an awesome party at the newly renovated Lighthouse Tavern. Grab a drink and some complimentary hors d’oeuvres with friends and dance the night away to the sounds of the band, Anonymous. Ids are required.

Learn about IGNITE
Graduates of the past decade are
invited to join IGNITE, the new annual giving donor group for young
alumni. Beginning this year, any young alum who makes a gift of any
size to Elon becomes a member of IGNITE. You can learn more about
IGNITE at Friday’s College Coffee and Spirit Rally, at the Young Alumni
Party Friday evening or on Saturday during check-in at Moseley Center
and during the football game at Rhodes Stadium. Make your gift at

National Pan-Hellenic Council Step Show

Members of Elon’s National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations will be on stage showcasing their stepping talents with hopes of being named the 2008 Homecoming Step Show Champions! Make plans now to attend one of Homecoming’s most popular events.

The Alumni Association invites all alumni to this annual awards presentation. Awards to be presented are the Distinguished Alumnus and Alumna of the Year, Young Alumnus and Alumna of the Year, and the Distinguished Service Award.

Old School Party featuring 9th Wonder
11 p.m. – 2 a.m.    McKinnon Hall, Moseley Center
The African-American Alumni group is proud to sponsor the Old School Party as members continue to raise money for the African-American Alumni Scholarship. Producer 9th Wonder, who has worked with artists such as Destiny’s Child, Mary J. Blige, De La Soul and Erykah Badu, will serve as DJ. Tickets required.
