Information sessions on “Summer in the City 2009: Elon in New York”


Summer in the City 2009: Elon in New York
is a new Elon initiative designed to introduce Elon juniors to life and work in New York City. The program, open to students in all majors, will run from early June through mid August. Safe and affordable housing has been arranged.

The purpose of this exciting new program is to enable students to develop competencies as professionals through participating in an approved internship and professional development course in New York City.

 Qualified students will meet the following criteria:

· Be a current student with junior standing or higher at the time the program starts

· Have a minimum GPA of 3.0

· Be free of any honor code violations for at least one year

· Be interested in a business-related career (Many different careers fall under this category, including arts administration, social services, sports management in addition to finance, marketing, and accounting)

· Have secured an internship prior to the start of the summer term (Come to an information meeting to learn about the internship resources available to you)

· Register for six hours of coursework (four-hour internship and two-hour professional development course)
