Parsons, Scott and Landesberg write chapter in Global Journalism book

The dean and two faculty members in the School of Communications have authored a chapter that appears in the 2009 edition of the book "Global Journalism: Topical Issues and Media Systems."

Dean Paul Parsons and assistant professors Glenn W. Scott and Richard Landesberg wrote a chapter titled “Barriers to Media Development” that addresses the physical, cultural, economic, governmental, media and technological barriers that limit the development of a strong communications infrastructure in particular nations.

Professor Arnold deBeer of South Africa is editor of the “Global Journalism” book. Parsons wrote the media barriers chapter for the fourth edition, and the three School of Communications faculty combined efforts for the fifth edition, published by Allyn and Bacon.
