2008 Distinguished Scholar Presentation by Earl Honeycutt: “Academic Research: Selfish or Selfless?” – April 6

Professor Earl Honeycutt, Elon University's 2008-2009 Distinguished Scholar, will give a presentation tonight in the LaRose Digital Theatre on the role of academic research in a university setting and whether such research is a “selfish” pursuit or an essential activity that allows a professor to remain on the cutting edge of their discipline and mentor future scholars.

Honeycutt is a professor of marketing and director of the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center at Elon University. He has been lauded for research that has earned peer commendation and respect and who has made significant contributions to his field of study.

Honeycutt has earned the reputation among his peers of being a prolific scholar, having published more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, co-authored four books and served on a host of committees and task forces while teaching up to three classes most semesters.

He most recently co-authored a textbook, “Sales Management: Shaping Future Sales Leaders,” released late last year by Pearson Prentice Hall, the world’s largest publisher.
