Miss North Carolina USA Kristen Dalton, of Wilmington, N.C., was crowned Miss USA 2009 on Sunday, April 19. The senior at East Carolina University is the daughter of 1983 Elon alumnus Alan Dalton. Alan, who played baseball at Elon, is the former leader of the university’s Cape Fear Alumni Chapter.
