Event Description

The Islamic Center of Raleigh is located near the N.C. State campus and was started humbly as a small prayer hall more than 15 years ago to serve an ethnically diverse Muslim community. As the community grew, the center expanded into a multi-story building with an adjacent K-8 Islamic school that teaches the Arabic language and Islamic studies on top of the Wake County school curriculum. In addition to accommodating the five daily Muslim prayers and celebrations for major Islamic holidays, the center is used for community meetings and events and often hosts sport activities and tournaments in its gym. The Islamic Center and its members welcome visitors and appreciate the opportunity to share their religious traditions and practices with others.
