Charter class members Jason Aycoth, Melissa Duncan, Nichelle Harrison, and Eleftherios Xixis, as well as Assstant Dean for Admissions Sharon Gaskin, were featured in a May 19 news story about the contributions of the class to the law school and to Greensboro, on WGHP-TV Fox 8 News.
The segment focuses on the commitment to community service that the charter class has exhibited over its three years at Elon University School of Law.
Harrison says, “Being a part of the charter class, we really have understood how important it has been to give back to Greensboro, because they gave so much to us.”
Xixis adds that his experience at Elon Law has been rewarding, “to be able to contribute hours, whether it be pro bono work or legal aid, and to be able to help others.”
Gaskin describes the vision of the law school to cultivate lawyer-leaders who embrace their roles in helping to address community needs, saying, “We want our students that are graduating to set a new paradigm in legal education, so that people do see them as servant leaders.”
Aycoth comments on the commitment of the charter class to addressing community needs over the course of their careers, and Duncan discusses how the development of the law school has helped to revitalize downtown Greensboro and make it an even better place to live and work.
