Senior class makes gift to Elon

The Class of 2009 collected more than $15,000 this year to fund the Senior Class Gift Campaign Study Abroad Grants, which will provide funding to students who are unable to study overseas because of personal financial situations. Class President Danielle Durst presented a check on May 23 to Elon University President Leo M. Lambert just prior to Commencement.

A total of 294 students, parents, grandparents and friends contributed $15,296.09 to the campaign. Senior Class Gift Committee members Alex Nickodem, Alex King, April Hanson, Carolyn Klasnick, Chad Zimmermann, Molly Donahue, Jessi Dexheimer and Liza Serratore encouraged classmates to demonstrate their commitment to giving back to Elon before they graduate.

Elon relies each year on annual gifts from alumni, parents, students and friends to support the best of an Elon education: excellent faculty, outstanding facilities, scholarships and signature programs such as study abroad, internships, research and service learning.
