Mary Gowan, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, was a speaker at the 2009 Women’s Executive Connection Conference, held Oct. 7 in Greensboro at the Proximity Hotel.
Gowan’s presentation, “Creating Your Own Future: Education and Professional Development Open Doors,” encouraged the audience to think of themselves as human capital and to invest themselves by increasing their knowledge, skills, and talent through education and professional development opportunities. Gowan shared details of her own journey as a student, educator and business school dean. Approximately 150 women attended the sold-out conference, including current Elon MBA students Margaret Currie-Coyoy, Lubna Ghanayem and Heather Scheel and 2008 MBA graduate Danielle Hoversten.
