Anthony Hatcher, associate professor of communications, has published an op-ed about the value of teaching in the Greensboro News and Record.
Hatcher wrote a tribute to the teacher who inspired him to enter the profession himself. Jo Jones, a teacher in Duplin County Schools for three decades, died in October. It was Mrs. Jones who encouraged Hatcher to become a journalist and a teacher, and he notes the influence she had on his life and career.
