Alumnus Billy Cahill ’09 wins award for film he made at Elon

Alumnus Billy Cahill '09 won an award for his film "A Slice of Key Lime Pie" from The Canadian International Film Festival. He will be traveling to Vancouver, British Columbia to represent himself and accept his award.

The film, which Cahill made during his senior year at Elon, is about a college student’s attempt to impress a boy she likes as she prepares for her first date. Cahill told The Pendulum in May that he made the film outside of class because he wanted to try writing and directing without the influence of a faculty member.

Cahill, who was named the Outstanding Senior in Cinema at last year’s School of Communications awards ceremony, lives in Los Angeles.
