Finalists for NC Teaching Fellows Scholarships Impressed and Informed by Open House

Kinsey Spencer ’11 and Alyssa Brown ’13 engaged the audience with their presentation on the History Study Tour.

Nearly 100 high school seniors and parents attended the Teaching Fellows Open House on Saturday, Feb. 6. Participants enjoyed a musical performance by senior Teaching Fellows, received an overview of scholarship expectations from the Director of Recruitment for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Office, enjoyed a skit by freshmen Fellows in preparation for regional interviews, and learned more about Elon’s Program from the Teaching Fellows Leadership Team. Other highlights included mini-class demonstrations by education faculty, break-out sessions for exploring majors with faculty and students, and campus tours. Representatives from the offices of Admissions, Financial Planning, the Multicultural Center, and the School of Education collaborated in planning and hosting this very successful recruiting event.

Sam Jennings ’11 shared his recent experiences at The Washington Center during his talk on Saturday.
