Elon Law Class of 2009 achieves 92 percent bar passage rate

Following the results of the February 2010 North Carolina Bar Exam, the combined pass rate for all graduates from Elon University School of Law's charter class is 92 percent.

Twelve of fourteen graduates from Elon Law’s Class of 2009 passed the February bar exam in North Carolina, achieving an 86 percent pass rate. The overall state passage rate for the February exam was 56 percent.

The February result builds on Elon Law graduates’ 83 percent pass rate on the July 2009 North Carolina Bar Exam. The overall state passage rate for July exam was 73 percent. Elon Law graduates also took bar examinations in South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

“We congratulate all Elon Law graduates for their successes, both in the bar exam and in the strides they are making in the profession,” said Elon Law Dean George R. Johnson, Jr.
