Chris Leupold named academic coordinator for Leadership Program

Chris Leupold, associate professor of psychology, will serve as the next academic coordinator for the Leadership Program, beginning with the 2010-11 academic year.

An industrial/organizational psychologist, Leupold came to Elon in 2003 after a successful career in leadership development and management consulting at The Home Depot and Personnel Decisions International. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame, his master’s degree from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte, and his doctorate in industrial/organization psychology from Wayne State University. Leupold has been actively engaged with Elon’s Leadership Program for many years, and currently offers the courses psychology of leadership and authentic leadership in literature. Leupold is currently a member of the NCAA Certification Steering Committee, the Leadership Advisory Board and the Experiential Education Advisory Board; he has previously served on the Long Range Planning Committee. Since January 2009, Leupold has served as department chair of the psychology department.
