BioBus rides available for Triad Commute Challenge Commuter Dash on April 10

Students and faculty are invited to take part this Saturday in the Triad Commute Challenge Commuter Dash, a walk/run at a regional park that kicks off a three-month campaign to raise awareness of air quality issues while encouraging people to try alternative transportation, like carpooling or biking, rather than driving alone.

Elon University is a Gold co-sponsor of the 2010 Triad Commute Challenge and will provide free transportation on a BioBus to Kernersville, N.C., where the 3-mile walk/run will be held at Triad Park. Registration for the walk/run is also free.

The bus departs from the Moseley Center on Saturday, April 10, at 7 a.m. Contact sustainability coordinator Elaine Durr at edurr@elon.edu by noon on Friday to reserve a spot. The Triad Commute Challenge is organized by the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation.

The challenge promotes transit opportunities such as biking, walking, taking a bus, vanpooling, carpooling and telecommuting to work.
