Christina Benson, Assistant Professor of Business Law at Elon University, has received the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching for 2010.

Sophie Adamson, assistant professor of French, was presented with the Excellence in Teaching Award earlier this year by Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences at Elon University.

Elon's men's club lacrosse team lost a hard-fought game against Westminster (Utah) May 11 in the opening
round of the MCLA Div. II National Championship in Denver, CO by a score of 11-7.

Members of the Class of 2010 aren't the only people leaving Elon's campus this month. Several faculty and staff will be leaving Elon for the next chapter of their lives, too. Elon University vice president Gerald Whittington and Elaine Durr, the university’s sustainability coordinator, were both cited extensively in a story on alternative transit options on college campuses in the April 2010 edition of Business Officer magazine.

Elon junior Natalie Lampert will be attending the 2nd Annual Global Model United Nations Conference this August in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as a representative of both Elon University and the University of Ghana.

Four faculty members were honored May 12, 2010, for superior scholarship, teaching, mentoring and service at Elon University’s faculty-staff awards luncheon. Those recognized included Eric Hall, April Post, Todd Lee and Jeffrey C. Pugh.

Assistant Professor Evan A. Gatti will give a paper titled “Images on the Edge and About the Center: “Ottonian” Art in Northern Italy” in a session titled "Art History on the Edge: Art and Architecture in the Provinces of the Medieval World(s)" at the International Congress on Medieval Studies on May 13 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
