Ross Wade, assistant director of career services for the School of Communications, will serve as one of three facilitators for Elon Academy’s “First in the Family” Retreat scheduled for the end of July. Wade will be working with MarQuita Barker and Brian O’Shea, under the leadership of Darris Means. The retreat will provide approximately 20 Elon Academy scholars with tools, resources and materials to make a successful transition into their freshmen year of college. As a part of his facilitating duties, Wade will be utilizing StrengthsQuest, a strengths-based personality assessment, to assist these first-generation freshman conceptualize how to maximize their college experience and reflect on major and career possibilities.
