Omri Shimron, assistant professor of music, has been invited to perform a new ensemble work in a faculty-artist recital at the Arizona State University School of Music on Sunday, Sept. 12.
The new work, which was recorded last month for the Ablaze label, was written by composer David Lipten. Other musicians in this performance will include Dr. Jana Starling of ASU School of Music and violinist Beth Schneider.
On Friday, September 10, Shimron will also present a lecture-demonstration to ASU students and faculty centered around a new solo piano work by composer Christopher Dietz. This solo work will be premiered in its entirety at Elon on Monday, Sep 13.
