Three Elon CIS and CS seniors complete summer undergraduate research experiences

During the past summer, the Computing Sciences department was proud to have three CIS and CS seniors complete ten week summer undergraduate research experiences at three different universities. Amanda Bienz did her research at Clemson University. She worked on a Virtual Patient project to allow students majoring in nursing to train by asking questions of a computer program instead of a professor. Amy Eubanks did her research at Elon University. She worked on an augmented reality application for mobile smart phones to persuade people to spend more time outdoors. Katherine Vogt did her research at Virginia Tech. She investigated the collaborative use of large display environments for sense-making and visual analytics.
