The Sports Broadcasting class in the School of Communications covered the Elon Phoenix home volleyball match against the University of North Carolina Greensboro Oct. 8. The event was seen live on ElonPhoenix.com via uStream, and it will be rebroadcast on Channel 14 on campus during the next week.

The game was seen here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/elon-phoenix-athletics.

Senior Tom Waterman and sophomore Greg Brzozowski handled the announcing duties with junior Lindsey Humbert producing and senior Erik Kendall directing.

The Oct. 8 volleyball game was the first of two live events to be covered by the Sports Broadcasting class, which will also produce the men’s soccer game between Elon and the nationally ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Tuesday, Oct. 26.

In the Sports Broadcasting class, students learn the structure, strategies and techniques of sports broadcasting, which serve the dual role of journalism and entertainment. It’s taught by Max Negin, an assistant professor in the School of Communications.
