DPT program teaches elementary school students the value of a healthy lifestyle

WFMY News 2 covered Elon DPT students as they worked with elementary school children on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

The DPT students worked with second graders from North Graham Elementary School. The group used pedometers and engaged in activities that demonstrated the benefits of exercise and making healthy living decisions.

Elon’s three-year, full-time Doctor of Physical Therapy program emphasizes a patient-centered approach to the profession. The program, which begins in January, immerses students in science and research while teaching them the value of respect and communication. Forty-eight weeks of hands-on clinical practicums reinforce the solid academics taught in the classroom.
