Elon students present at NCAAHPERD conference with professor

Four Elon students joined associate professor Hal Walker from Nov. 10-13, 2010, at the annual conference of the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem.

Walker, chair of the Department of Sport and Event Management, and his students spoke alongside a colleague from Methodist University and three of his students in a session titled “Experiential Activities in Sport Management.”

This session was part of the North Carolina Sport Management Association Program, which also included a Sport Management Professionals seminar coordinated by Walker with the following speakers: Dave Olsen, V.P. & General Manager of the RBC Center; Sport & Event Management Alum: Molly Boyce, Durham Bulls; Mark Cryan, Director of Athletics, City of Burlington; Doreen Lumpkin, Greensboro Coliseum Complex; Ben Tario, Atlantic Coast Conference; and Peter Vacho, Carolina Panthers.

More than 1,500 professionals attended the conference.
