The North Carolina Literary and Historical Association and the Federation of North Carolina Historical Societies have honored two Elon University faculty members with the Christopher Crittenden Memorial for lifetime contributions to the advancement of North Carolina history.

Kevin O'Mara, a professor of business administration, and Gary Palin, executive director of the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, presented Nov. 12 at the International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship hosted by the Izmir University of Economics in Izmir, Turkey.

Steve DeLoach, a professor of economics in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, has been named the 2011-11 Hollingsworth Visiting Scholar at Furman University. He will be presenting the Hollingsworth Lecture at Furman on Thursday, November 17.

Associate prfessor Kathy Gallucci presented her paper, "A Chromatid Is Not a Homologue," at the National Association of Biology Teachers Annual Conference in Minneapolis, Minn., on Nov. 4, 2010.

Professors Lynda Storsved and Carol Smith presented at the NCAAHPERD 63rd Annual Convention “Get Up, Get Moving” from Nov. 11-13, 2010.

Elon professors Ken Hassell and Tom Arcaro were part of the Sullivan Social Entrepreneurship Fall Retreat held in Hendersonville, N.C., from Nov. 5-7, 2010.
