MBA Student Alumni Association gives to Elon Academy Dream Fund

The MBA Student Alumni Association hosted a golf tournament that raised $1,000 in support of the Elon Academy Dream Fund, a special budget created by the association three years ago to assist Elon Academy with college visits, involve students in school and community projects, and help students and families when unexpected life situations arise.

MBA program leaders and alumni presented a check to the scholars, families, and staff at a recent Elon Academy program. Presenters were Ed Adams and Victoria Mabry Dixon, alumni leaders of the MBA Alumni Association.

In 2007, in collaboration with the Alamance-Burlington School System, Elon University established the Elon Academy, a three-year intensive college access program for academically promising high school students with a financial need and/or no family history of college. Its mission is to inspire students to pursue and earn a postsecondary degree and to assume leadership roles in their communities.

The program includes three 4-week residential summer experiences and year-round monthly Saturday programs on Elon’s campus. Support for the students continues through higher education.
