Elon University journalism student Samantha Baranowski placed seventh in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program's Television Broadcast Features Competition I.
Baranowski, who was the only Elon student to place in the top 10 in this particular competition, is an anchor and reporter for Phoenix14News, Elon’s weekly student newscast. Last year, she was named a national semifinalist in the Hearst Broadcast News Competition.
