The Textiles and Apparel area of the Department of Human Sciences at North Carolina Central University is planning its annual Fashion Design Competition Fashion Show. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the McDougald Gymnasium.
This is a juried competition and there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. The theme for this event is “Fashion Tent-sation”. Each student will choose a famous designer to inspire their collection. Area high school and university students are invited to participate in a special segment entitled: “Guest Designers”. However, the Guest Designers are not restricted to the theme.
Students who would like to showcase their creative talents are encouraged to enter this competition. A non-refundable entry fee of $10.00 per two looks (with a maximum of 4 models) must be submitted, with a sketch of the design (s), and a brief biography of the designer by Friday, March 4, 2011. The final garment(s) should be completed and ready for run-way presentation at the show.
