RSVP - Spring Faculty Student Course Design Group or SoTL Research Seminar

Faculty-student course design groups

“Thoughtful partnership during the design process can lead not only to more effective courses and deeper student learning, but also to new insights into learning and teaching for students and faculty “ (Ayesha Delpish et al., 2010, p. 111). This excerpt from Sustaining Student Voices in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (a book that includes multiple chapters by Elon faculty and students) describes the benefit of partnering with students in course development.

If you would like to work with students to develop or revise a course under the guidance of CATL, please contact Katie King at x6449 or kingcath@elon.edu by February 8. The proposed format is a mix of larger group and smaller group work using a shared process for course design and some documentation of the process by all.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Seminar

If you are interested in pursuing a scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) project this year, consider joining this ongoing seminar.

Each meeting will be focused on a specific aspect of SoTL, such as refining your research question or analyzing data of student learning. Please RSVP to, or ask questions of, Katie King (kingcath@elon.edu or x6449) by February 8.
