Anthony Hatcher, associate professor of communications, attended a seminar for journalism educators at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla., Feb. 7-11. Hatcher was selected to attend a workshop called Teaching Multimedia Journalism. The workshop covered video and audio editing software, as well as media ethics.
Selection at Poynter seminars is competitive. Other attendees came from the University of Florida, the University of Central Florida, Humboldt State University (CA), DePauw University (IN), Vorhees College (SC), the State University of New York – Plattsburgh, and California State University – Long Beach.
Poynter’s mission statement reads:
