Philanthropy Journal spotlights Elon Law’s preceptor program

The Philanthropy Journal featured the innovative preceptor program of the Elon University School of Law in a Dec. 23 story. Reporter Todd Cohen described the ways that practicing attorneys are sharing their wisdom with Elon Law students.

Preceptor Richard Gabriel of Gabriel Berry & Weston, L.L.P., with law student Joshua Neighbors, at one of Elon Law’s monthly receptions with the legal community.

Cohen observes that: “Each preceptor works with two to three students, mentoring them on the practical and ethical aspects of the legal profession. In addition to meeting with students to answer questions and talk about their concerns, preceptors observe them in class and give them feedback, and also invite the students to observe them at work.”
