Truitt Center sponsoring trip to see educator/activist Omekongo – March 31

Omekongo is a 21st century educator, actor, poet, motivational speaker, publisher and author. Born of Congolese parents who fled their homeland because of their role in its fight for liberation, Omékongo uses motivational spoken words to reach across continents to foster cultural understanding and acceptance.

He is a Les Brown Platinum Motivational Speaker and CNN contributor. His parents’ emphasis on education, family, and respect for others has influenced his own work to embrace people of diverse backgrounds and teach others to do the same. The Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life will be hosting a visit to UNC Chapel Hill to see Omekongo speak on March 31 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Auditorium.

If you would like to attend please email Frank Stiefel at fstiefel@elon.edu with you name, email and phone number in order to reserve a spot on the van that will be picking students up at 545pm at the boney fountain for the event.
