Iris Versmissen '10 was recently awarded the North Carolina Science Teachers Association Outstanding Elementary School Student Teacher of the Year Award. Versmissen was an elementary education Teaching Fellow with a Spanish minor.

Elon University students in a spring semester computer information systems class are learning more about the Alamance County community as they work together to design websites for local agencies that help the mentally and developmentally disabled.
Elon hosts inaugural Billings, Exum and Frye National Moot Court Competition

Elon University School of Law is holding the inaugural Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition March 31 through April 2. Seventeen law schools and more than 30 teams of law students are participating in the competition, which will take place annually. More than 100 distinguished judges and lawyers have volunteered to serve as judges for the competition, including The Honorable Steven M. Colloton, Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and five justices of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
3rd Annual Religion & Media Conference: Media Portrayal of Atheism – April 4

News & Observer reporter Yonat Shimron, University of South Carolina journalism professor Cecile Holmes and Asheville City Councilman Cecil Bothwell will participate in a April 4 panel moderated by Elon University professor Tom Arcaro, discussing the portrayal of atheism through local and regional media and how this influences society. The event takes place in the LaRose Digital Theatre at 7:30 p.m.
