Pride Week: Day of Silence & Bar-B-Queer – April 15

Friday, April 15 – Day of Silence & Bar-B-Queer

Friday, April 15 is the national Day of Silence, on which hundreds of thousands of students nationwide take a vow of silence to bring attention to the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people, as well as straight allies, as a result of anti-LGBTQ harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. Spectrum will be passing out “speaking” cards, stickers, and wristbands for the Day of Silence at Pride Week events throughout the week.

We will break the silence at 5 p.m. with a Bar-B-Queer at the grill nearest to McEwen dining hall, where we will share our experiences remaining silent for the day.
