Farmworker Children Awareness Event – April 19

Come learn about the issues that farmworker children in North Carolina face and what you can do to help!

Did you know…?
-Children as young as 10 are allowed to work unlimited hours outside of school in agricultural jobs.
-More than half of youth who regularly perform farmwork never graduate from high school.
-There are between 400,000 and 500,000 farmworker children in the United States.

The evening will consist of a short film screening, followed by a speaker from the Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs and ways for you to get involved with this important issue!

There will be a table at College Coffee that morning as well, with a photo display created by the children, and information about how to support a bill that has recently been introduced in the NC legislature to protect children farmworkers.
