The Elon University license with Blackboard expires in 2012 and as a result TLT and ATACC are examining the e-Learning requirements for the university to ensure the LMS provides functionality to meet faculty course needs. There has been a substantial movement in higher education toward the adoption of alternative course management systems due to similar functionality, user control, and cost effectiveness.
TLT is conducting a two-year study evaluating Moodle with faculty volunteers. This examination targets academic concerns such as course navigation, ease of use, communication and organizational tools, course content, and assessment.
TLT will offer training and exploration in Moodle on the following dates this summer:
June 8, 15, 22, and 29
July 13 and 20
August 3 and 10
