A memorial service for Melody van Lidth de Jeude, an instructor in the School of Communications who died late last month, will take place Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Orange United Methodist Church at 1220 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Chapel Hill, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, her husband, Philip, asks that contributions in memory of Melody be sent to the School of Communications, c/o University Advancement, 2600 Campus Box, Elon, NC 27244.
Van Lidth de Jeude died May 27 following a brief illness. A member of the Elon faculty since 2007, she had taught public speaking to hundreds of students.
In addition to public speaking, she also taught Persuasion and The Process of Communication in the School of Communications.
