Associate Professor of Communications Amanda Sturgill completed the Newsplex Summer Seminar training Teaching and Research in Convergent Media in early June.
Sturgill, along with mass communication faculty from the United States and China, completed a week of hands-on training on converged media skills and technologies, and learned about strategies for teaching students to become effective journalists for changing media.
Newsplex is an advanced, micro-newsroom training and research facility dedicated to news presentation techniques emerging from the convergence of print, broadcast and online media. Clients have included newspapers around the world, the United Nations and the Voice of America.
