Jack McKeon ’63 returns to Florida Marlins as interim manager

Jack McKeon '63, who skippered the Florida Marlins to the 2003 World Series title, will return as the club's interim manager. McKeon replaces Edwin Rodriguez, who resigned as Marlins manager June 19 after the team limped to a 1-17 record for the month.

In his tenure as Marlins manager from 2003 to 2005, McKeon compiled a 241-207 record, guiding the team to three straight winning seasons. He was voted the National League Manager of the Year in 2003.

McKeon, at age 80, becomes the second-oldest manager in major league history, trailing only Connie Mack (88). Since leaving his post as Marlins manager in 2005, McKeon has served as a special assistant to the organization.
