Angela Owusu-Ansah hired as associate dean for School of Education

The School of Education is pleased to announce the arrival of our first associate dean, Angela Owusu-Ansah. She also serves as director of our M.Ed. and teacher education programs, and coordinates our program assessment. She's looking forward to continuing "the good work established and actively participating in the growth and excellence of Elon's programs."

Ansah previously served as assistant dean of the Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education and Professional Studies at Samford University. An associate professor in educational assessment, she taught several classes in Samford’s graduate studies program and formerly edited the journal, The Educational Collaborative.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Ghana, her master’s in Spain and her doctorate in the United States, and also had a residency at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Ansah’s areas of research interst include quantitative literacy, assessment and intercultural conduits – competence. Her research has appeared in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Distance Learning and Forum on Public Policy: A Journal for the Oxford Round Table.

Outside of work, Ansah enjoys making abstract paintings, dancing and playing basketball.
