Interactive Media program announces Twitter scholarship contest

Elon’s Interactive Media program is launching a scholarship contest via Twitter. Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Elon University is taking the application process for its M.A. in Interactive Media scholarship program to the Twitterverse.

Beginning Dec. 1, 2011, eligible* contestants will be considered for the scholarships by drafting a single tweet of 140 characters or less to Elon’s iMedia Twitter handle @EloniMedia, including the hashtag #shiftimedia.

Elon is asking prospective students to tweet how the iMedia program will shift their career in new directions. Scholarship winners will be announced March 27, 2012 and the top two participants will each receive a $3,000 scholarship award to pursue their master’s degree at Elon.

“Every year, Elon awards a number of scholarships to Interactive Media students who demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to energizing media communication,” said David Copeland, director of the Elon M.A. in Interactive Media program. “This year, through one of the most interactive social media tools, we wanted to offer prospective iMedia students a creative and fun way to realize the value of a master’s degree in Interactive Media.”

  • From December 1, 2011 – March 15, 2012, tweet @EloniMedia and submit your scholarship tweet including #shiftimedia.
  • Tell us how you will use the iMedia program to shift your career in new directions (we want to feel your passion for this program!).
