Music Faculty Perform at Benefit Concert in Greensboro

Gerald Knight, assistant professor of music, coordinator of Music Education, voice instructor and director of University Chorale; Omri Shimron, assistant professor of music theory and piano; and Virginia Novine-Whittaker, adjunct saxophone instructor and Elon Music Ambassadors leader, performed a benefit concert in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday, April 21.

The concert took place at the home of Cindy and Fred Proctor, the hosts of a “Friends & Forks” dinner, supporting Music for a Great Space, a longstanding concert series in Greensboro. Music for a Great Space focuses on chamber music and solo acts by local and international classical musicians. Joining the Elon musicians was Mr. Craig Whittaker on alto saxophone. The program included works by Bowers, Burleigh, Gershwin, Owens, Oscar Peterson, Ravel and Telemann.
