2012-13 student parking changes

Students should read this note for campus parking regulations and changes for 2012-13.

On-line vehicle registration for upper-class students for fall 2012 is available starting May 11, 2012. Go to www.elon.edu/parking where you will also find the 2012/2013 parking regulations. Please note the changes in parking in some areas of campus due to the construction of the Global Residential Neighborhood. An 80-space parking lot (designated KB-3) will be constructed this summer off the lot behind the Colonnades, toward the Daniel Commons.

All parking fees and fines for next year will remain the same, with two exceptions. The parking permit will be half price for students assigned to the Michael lot (as is the case for the Harper Center lot) due to clearing these lots on football game days. And the towing charge will increase from $60.00 to $65.00. Per the suggestion of SGA, Campus Safety and Police will e-mail or text students if their car is towed; students’ cell phone numbers are requested on their vehicle registration form.

If you have any questions, please contact Campus Safety & Police at 336-278-5555, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Changes in Parking for 2012-2013

Harper Center lot will have 75 spaces which will be used for Loy Center J,K,L,M,R, and S (upper Greek court). The rest of Loy Center residents will be assigned to the McMichael lot with over flow in KB-3 (new lot). On football game day, the 75 spaces in the Harper Center lot will be used as follows: 71 Student Life (tailgating) and 4 by Health Services staff.

The softball lot across from Latham Baseball Park will be used as an overflow lot for all registered vehicles, excluding EW’s. On football game day, the lot will be for Phoenix Club use.

The Harper Center lot, Moseley lot and the McMichael lot will be clear on football game days. Students who park in Harper Center and Resident students who park in the McMichael Center lot will receive half price parking permits.

Carolina Hall residents will park in the East Gym lot instead of the McMichael lot. The reason is that half the students in the Loy Center have been assigned to the McMichael lot due to the loss of spaces in the Harper lot. But more spaces will be available in the East Gym lot since Physical Therapy parking has moved from the East Gym lot to the Francis Center,

Students residing in the Station at Mill Point will receive a free parking permit, MP. They will be required to park at Mill Point until after 4 p.m. (just like Danieley Center residents).

All other parking will remain the same.
