Men’s Lacrosse Downed by St. John’s at National Tournament

Men's lacrosse club competes for the third time in the last four years in the Division II national tournament, but suffers first round exit.

The men’s lacrosse club was defeated by St. John’s (MN) 6-4 in the first round of the MCLA Division II national tournament on Monday in Greenville, SC. This was the third time in the last four years that the men’s lacrosse club has participated in the national tournament. Elon qualified for the tournament by winning the SELC tournament championship in April.

Andy Fargnoli scored two goals for Elon. Brett Bennett and Steven Augustine also tallied in the contest. Elon led 3-2 at halftime but was unable to score in the final period. Elon concludes another strong season with a 14-5 record.
