elondocs students Amy Reitnouer, Conor Britain and Erin Barnett recently attended the 14th annual Cucalorus Film Festival in Wilmington, N.C., Nov. 12 with adviser and instructor in the School of Communications Nicole Triche.
Triche and the students attended multiple film screenings, a special radio workshop and special filmmaker events such as the welcome reception at the Bellamy Mansion. The group also met film critic David Fellerath and several filmmakers from North Carolina, Texas and even Berlin.
The Bars & Tone Experiment, five short films by Triche, was screened at the festival. The Bars & Tone Experiment is a series of short experimental films that include a variety of techniques and subject matter including stop-motion animation, hand painted 16mm leader, break dancing and the music of local bands. The films will be shown as a part of the opening night kickoff party at the Soapbox Lounge.
