The Elon World Percussion Ensemble has openings for the fall 2012 Ensemble. The group plays rhythms from around the globe with specific emphasis on Africa, Cuba, and South America. You will learn hand drum techniques that are applicable to many cultures and you will learn how to hear the language of the drum. Drums are provided and no prior experience is required.
The course meets in the Center for the Arts Thursdays from 5:30-7:10 p.m. Register for Mus106G to join. Private hand drum lessons or drum set lessons are also available at Mus142A (1/2 hour) or Mus 142B (hour). Schedule determined by the professor.
