Buffie Longmire-Avital publishes article in the Journal of HIV/AIDS & Social Services

Buffie Longmire-Avital and research colleagues found that perceived financial strain for aging HIV-positive African Americans is a significant and independent predictor of life satisfaction. The current finding further supports the position that socioeconomic disparities that contribute to HIV risks persist as obstacles to obtaining necessary health care as people age with this disease.

The article, “Financial Hardships and Life Satisfaction Among Aging African Americans with HIV” appears in the December 2012 issue of the Journal of HIV/AIDS & Social Services, 11 (4) 363-374; it can be currently accessed online.
