North Carolina Sunshine Day March 11

Please join us for Sunshine Day from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at the McKimmon Center on the NC State University campus (located at 1101 Gorman St., Raleigh, N.C.). The event is sponsored by the Sunshine Center of the North Carolina Open Government Coalition and N.C. State University Student Media. Speakers include veteran journalists and government officials from North Carolina and numerous experts and advocates for open government. We encourage citizens, journalists, government employees, librarians, attorneys, public officials, students—anyone and everyone—to attend. At this event we will also introduce new open government initiatives.

We’re also pleased to extend an invitation to government officials and staff to attend a pre-conference session on the topic of responding to records requests from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on March 11, also at the McKimmon Center. There is no additional charge to attend this session, which will be led by UNC School of Government professor Fleming Bell and North Carolina Press Association General Counsel Amanda Martin.

Regular Registration Cost: $30 (includes lunch).
Student registration cost: $18.
