Update 9:50 p.m.: Arrangements for Friday and Saturday on Elon's campus

Read this note for updates about lodging, food and Fellows weekend activities.

First and foremost, falling ice and branches continue to be a hazard on campus. Please stay inside for the evening and take care if you must walk across campus, staying away from areas where there are tall trees.

Due to continued power outages in many parts of campus, residence halls and apartments without electricity will close at 7:30 p.m. tonight. All students living in Colonnades Neighborhood, the Global Neighborhood and Danieley Center must leave those buildings for the night. Danieley Center has experienced a second power outage and there is a dangerous power line down on the Tram path behind Sheridan Place. Stay clear of the area. Students may bunk in with friends in other residences, or may spend the night in Moseley Center. Be sure to bring along necessary supplies, including pillows, bedding, medications, toiletries, electronics charging cords, etc., for the evening. Student Life staff will be on hand in both locations.

Belk Library, which had previously been designated as shelter, will be closing at 11 p.m.

Power has been restored to The Station at Mill Point and to South Campus buildings.

Parking is available for the evening in the Moseley or McMichael lots (part will be reserved for Fellows parking), and in faculty/staff/visitor spaces in The Oaks lot.

The Moseley Center desk will serve as the campus information center throughout the evening. As always, contact 336.278.5555 for emergency information.

Jordan Gym and the fitness/Campus Recreation areas will be open until 10 p.m. for recreation.

Events tonight include the SUBZERO talent show and Open Mic in McKinnon Hall at 8 p.m.. The movie “Frozen” will be shown in McKinnon at 10 p.m.
