MUS 115 A: The Fundamentals of Music class to debut

In Fall 2014, the Elon Music Department will offer an exciting new class!

This year, the Music Department is offering an exciting new class that is open to all students: MUS 115 A, The Fundamentals of Music. This class provides an introduction to the basic elements of music: pitch, rhythm, form, timbre, dynamics, and texture. Students will learn to read and write music and apply their knowledge to performance and criticism, through in-class performance and listening exercises and out-of-class concert experiences. The Fundamentals of Music is both an excellent preparation for incoming music majors and minors beginning their study of Music Theory and Aural Skills, and an Expression credit for students in other departments with an interest in music.

The Fundamentals of Music meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Come join us!
