Elon students participate in national Beta Alpha Psi meeting

Three members of Elon’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter, along with the chapter advisor, represented Elon at the national organization’s annual meeting.

Beta Alpha Psi members Richard Segal ’15, Wes Brewer ’16 and Caleb Newcomb ’16, and Beta Alpha Psi Advisor Patty Cox, participated in the Beta Alpha Psi annual meeting held Aug. 7-9, in Atlanta.

Brewer, Segal and Cox took part in the BAP community service project, International Day of Literacy, which involved distributing books at local Atlanta elementary schools and teaching about the importance of literacy.

Newcomb represented Elon in the Project Run With It competition. BAP student representatives worked together to develop solutions to real life business problems of not-for-profit organizations located in the Atlanta area. Newcomb worked with three students from other universities to develop a formal presentation showcasing their solution to the business issues presented by their not-for-profit organization.

Segal and Brewer also presented a concurrent session on how Elon’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter has stressed the importance of writing skills to their members.
